Giveaway Alert: Pier One Giveaway at Tatertots & Jello

I {heart} Pier 1. I love the colors, the design, pattern, texture - I could drop some serious coin in there every time I stop by. It takes a lot of willpower not to walk out with something. A LOT.

They have some awesome new outdoor items to prepare your yard/ (tiny terrace like me) for summer grillin' & chillin'. And to help you do that, Jen at Tatertots and Jello is giving away:

$100 Gift Card to Pier 1.

Yes, you read that correctly. Hop on over and take a peek!

White Wedding & Winter Weather

Today its supposed to snow again. I could express my feelings on the matter but since other states have it so much worse, I'm not going to.

Today was THE BIG WEDDING and while I did not wake up to watch the actually wedding, I did catch the TLC wrap up show which showed bits and pieces. I must say - I thought her dress was very formal and fitting for a Princess. Like Hotpants at Handbags and Handguns, I immediately thought of Grace Kelly when I saw it.

My husband asked me what all the hype was about and after I waited a minute to see if he was joking, I gently explained to him that it's a real life Princess getting married to a real life Prince in a real life Kingdom. Except its better because it involves haute couture and a limitless wedding budget. Its a real life fairy tale - yeah, it's kind of a big deal to women and girls everywhere! I really was mainly into it because I was dying to see the wedding dress and I thought it was lovely.

Now that the wedding is over and while there will still be show after show and recap after recap of the Royal Wedding, it's nice to know that we'll be going back to regularly scheduled programming. (I missed a couple of my shows because of this madness.) I did get a little caught up in it though when I watched a re-run of Princess Diana's wedding with pop-up trivia. Not gonna lie.

So because of all the wedding and white madness about today - here are some white things to swoon over:

Here.
(Yes, it's popular around here this week because I really want it.)

And in honor of today - have some wedding shoes too:

Here.
Is it just me or do these scream wedding shoes?...of the early 90's?

Here.
White satin, gem, ribbon - yep, those are wedding shoes alright.

Actually, I wouldn't know - I went red:

Participating at Peace, Love & Applesauce's Friday Shoegasm - hooray!!!

Have a MARVELOUS weekend! New craft going up sometime Sunday!

Gourmet Guilty Pleasure: Doughnuts on Steroids

Again, I have to apologize to anyone living out of Utah, for subjecting you to something you can only find here.

But I have to tell you about these doughnuts:

Yes - Beyond Glaze has two locations: Draper & Salt Lake City. I had heard of these doughnuts before but just hadn't tried them until about 4 months ago. I was making a "Caffeine Run" at work. (Picking up energy drinks, soda, etc. for some of the office.) I was driving back and noticed big balloons advertising the grand entrance of "Beyond Glaze" doughnuts. I made a mental note and then suggested it for a morning meeting the next week.

They've been an office staple ever since. We even talked a vendor into bringing them in for us. They're so delicious it should be illegal.

They're gourmet and very rich so sticking with just one usually isn't a problem. The problem is picking which one that will be:

After a few meetings I've made my choice when it comes to my absolute favorite.

I give you: The Strawberry Cream Cheese Doughnut
This is SO good. It goes beyond just a doughnut. It's so much better. Honestly you could have these for dessert too.

Some more for your consideration:
The Smore Doughnut
Yep...it's just as yummy as it looks.

The Peach Cobbler Doughnut.
I haven't had this one yet, but I've been told it's delicious.

The Caramel Apple Doughnut.
Again...so rich and delicious.

The Blueberry Torte Doughnut.
This also comes in Raspberry as well. They're unbelievable.

There are many more pictures on the website but they have many more that aren't pictured. Like the one I had this morning called the Coconut Cream doughnut. It was delightful. (But horrible for the gettin'-sexy program.)

I'd highly recommend these to any doughnut connoisseur. HIGHLY.

Also - sorry for the weight gain it might cause. These definitely aren't on any diet plans!

Wednesday Window Shoppin' - 4/27

Its a balmy 40 degrees here today given that I woke up to snow on the ground, I guess it's something. Its also expected to snow on Friday as well. But, what can you do? Complain. And I have already. So I'll leave it at that. I could have much worse to complain about, right?

So instead, I'll window shop and tell you about cute outfits I would like to own one day. I swear, I didn't originally go for a color theme here, it's just how this wound up. Blues and grays.

1. Here. 2. Here. 3. Here. 4. Here. 5. Here. 6. Here.

I really wish it was nice enough to wear sandals. I'm also definitely going to buy these gladiator heels. In what color, I'm not sure. But I like em! I'm also really loving that braided cuff bracelet. I'm too cheap to pay $17 for a bracelet...so I'll wait for it to go on sale and then I'll strike. I'd love for it to be warm enough to wear this outfit!!

Found here.
I've mentioned I'm all about versatile tops like this. Plain and simple but you can do a lot with them.

Found here.
Another cardigan. Because I'm cold and this looks warm...also it's really cute.

Found here.
Another non-lumberjack button up top I love. I like the color too.
Found here.
Again, we have another cute versatile top. Stripes again? Yes, but I like how casual it is. It's a good every day top, I think. Also - for Abercrombie, it's affordable.

Well these are just some of the things that I have my eye on. Apparently I'm all about blue today. Well, here's hoping for warm weather so I can buy and wear this stuff, right?

What are some of your finds?

Hoo Are You?

Today is one of those days. You know the ones? When you look outside and the weather is not only dreary, but SNOWING?! Yep. I said snowing. I've lived here all of my life and I swear it has never snowed this frequently in April - ever. I'm not going to say anything about hoping that this is the end of it because I've said that before.

Instead I'm going to participate in Hoo Are You Tuesdays at Night Owl Crafting. You should participate too - it's fun getting to know people like this!!

1. Do you plant a garden or flowers, or neither?

I live in a condo. Therefore there isn't a place to do any of that junk. But I do plan on having a nice backyard one day. However, I have an intense dislike of yard work. (Probably because it was a punishment as a kid...) The beauty part about my future yard is that my husband LOVES it. He says that mowing a lawn is relaxing. Well knock yourself out, big guy! I've already given him control over our future yard. We're both very pleased with this decision.

2. Does it bother you to have your blinds or curtains open after dark so people can see in your house?

Um...yeah. My husband and I like to play a game where either of us do a strange or crazy random thing to make each other laugh from time to time. I don't think we should subject our neighbors to our madness. That and I've seen one too many scary movies.

3. Do you like to go camping?

Honestly I haven't been camping since my Senior Trip in High School. We camped at Lake Powell, it was heaven. My husband and his family were huge on camping and hopefully we'll be able to go this Summer. I just have one hangup that bothers my husband. There must be a modern-ish toilet...or I'll basically be the most unpleasant person to camp with. I'm very passionate about the fact that women weren't made to pee in the woods.

4. Do you have a laptop or a desk top computer?

We have both at home. We have a laptop and a Mac. The Mac is sexy, and the laptop is useful when you don't feel like getting up and going to the other room. Guess which one gets used the most?

5. What time during the day do you have your most energy?

Probably between the hours of 6:00 pm & 8:00 pm. I get a burst around 10:00 am when I'm at work, but I'm afraid that doesn't happen on the weekends. Weird. Must have something to do with the fact that I'm usually curled up on the couch catching up with my On Demand shows. In pajamas...feeling guilty that I should probably go to the gym, but I know I won't make it until at least 1:00 pm. If ever.

*I have no idea why blogger is messing with font size with the questions. Best of luck reading the really small ones. I can't seem to make it stop!

I Heart Them: Love Stitched

*First let me just say: I have never talked to the head honcho at any of these Etsy shop. I haven't been asked nor do I get anything out of discussing these Etsy shops. I'm just telling you because I "heart" them.

Today I'm going to tell you about a crush I have...

On a necklace.

But really it's so much more than that. It's a crush on a shop. An etsy shop. And the cuteness is of epic proportions.

Of course, anyone with eyes (who reads blogs like I do all day) has seen the creative cuteness that is Love Stitched. She's got an adorable blog, which is truthfully, a daily read for me as well.

The rosettes, the colors, the love...stitched..., I die.

This necklace.
Its the one I have a crush on. It's called the Breakfast at Tiffany's. The little pearls, the little yellow gems. Those colors together? Yep - I'm hooked.

Little. Rosette. Rings.
Adorable.

Again - the colors, the little pearly accents.

Cute pastel and adorable!

I love these dainty blue earrings - they're lovely.

This is the Ashley Lynn. The browns, yellow, tan and cream together? I love it all.

I think I "heart" just about everything in the shop. I got carried away when I first peeked. But she'll do that to ya.

*Alright. I have something to admit.
First - I really do "heart" love stitched. That's no lie. But I have to admit that my love for the shop may be a little over-the-top right, shout-it-from-the-rooftops right now because I may...or may not have won a necklace from the shop. A mum necklace. Go ahead - take a look.

Whew - I'm glad I got that off my chest.

Little Changes: Quatrefoil Canvas Accent

Happy Easter Sunday to you all!!

I'm still adding more blue to my living area and this week I did that by adding a little quatrefoil canvas accent.

This is a really easy way to add a little color.

Also: it was cheap.

I picked up the small canvas frame at Hobby Lobby for 30% off which brought it to around $3.00. I only ended up using a little bit of paint. The paint was $.99.

See what I mean? Cheap.

This could also be a small accent for a wall too. I thought about picking up two more and doing coordinating colors and stencils on those as well. I could mount them on the wall horizontal or vertical for pops of color too.
See - this craft is versatile!

The essentials:

1. Canvas Frame - about $3.00. 2. Stencil found for free courtesy of Jen at Tatertots and Jello. 3. Paint of your choice. This color is "Spa Blue." 4. Paintbrushes. (Thanks for not commenting on my dusty table...)

Originally I thought it might be a good idea to maybe add a monogram to this, either in white or black depending on how it looked after I was finished stenciling. But then afterwards I decided not to. The stencil I used to was too big, if I had printed it off smaller- maybe.

Because I don't like to take my own advice I printed it off on paper again. I had visions of it flipping up and slipping off so I taped it down to make sure it wouldn't move.

You can blot/ dab or just paint on depending on the brush you're using. Since I was using my cheap brushes it was a combination of both.

I knew it'd need more than one coat. So after the first coat dried I went back and carefully painted within the lines. Again - this is where a fine tipped brush could have come in handy...

This is after the second coat. You can't tell because of poor lighting...

I decided to put it up on my shelf instead of my accent table. After all I'm trying to add blue everywhere.

Another angle...

I like the color of blue. It's not a huge change but I like how it brightens the shelf a little more. I feel like it's so dark with the big steel accent (should I paint it white? Seriously I have no idea.), but the blue helps a little bit.

Another small change to my living area. Hopefully I'll move onto pillows to help brighten up my dark place! I'm keeping an eye out! (If anyone knows any great deals on aqua pillows - let me know!!)

Friday! And Ooh - Yellow!

Sleep. Gym. Laundry. Repeat. That's what my weekend will consist of. But that's ok!

I've set the goal for June 1st to be swimsuit ready! The plan is to keep an exercise and nutrition log so I can see what I need to change and make better goals. I've also taken a before picture of myself. This will not be shared. Neither will the after picture. Sorry - I know myself too well, I'll be overly critical of myself in a swimsuit, even if I get to my overall goal. Also - my skin is so horribly, pasty white right now, you'd need sunglasses. (No seriously.) I don't have a set weight goal, just an overall tone-and-slim goal.

I think another motivator is swimwear.

Now, I'm pretty sure I've mentioned before that I have a love/hate relationship with the color yellow. It looks horrible on me. (Trust me - it's not good.) Every tone too. I really only like it in small amounts. Accessories and such. I also dislike bows. I'm not entirely sure why but it might have something to do with the fact that I'm the first granddaughter and daughter - therefore the bows came in big numbers in my childhood and I feel that's where they should stay.

Then I post a picture of a yellow bikini with a big giant bow on it?! Yep. It's all the things I dislike, except done in a way that I adore. I still probably wouldn't buy it because unless I suddenly develop the ability to tan...at all, this color of yellow would be atrocious on me. But for you tan women out there: look how cute this is!!

I'm also a fan of these yellow items as well:

Found here.
I'm still searching for "that perfect purse." I haven't found it yet...well at least not one that I love in my price range. I still love this. I like buckles on accessories too.

Found here.
This is a cute accessory! It would look fabulous...on tanner people than me. Any women have the scoop on non-orange, non-smelly facial tanners? Anybody?

Found here.
I love bright pops of color like this. These are simple but I'd love to put them with some cropped jeans or skinny jeans.

Found here.
I don't know about you, but I love bright colors for pedicures. I always have. I'm drawn to the neon colored nail polish every time I go into the drugstore. I'm not entirely sure why but bright colors on my feet make me happy. Plain and simple. Right now I have bright turquoise toenails with white polka dots. Maybe yellow is next!

Found here.
These are another one of Jessica Simpson's hot heels. They're called the "Cougar."

Found here.
I'm loving the ruffle on the back!

The rest of the accessories have nothing to do with motivation towards exercise, but they're fun and they definitely get me excited for when Spring decides to grace us with its presence.

Well today is now Day 2 of my Gettin'-Sexy program. Let the countdown begin!
