I Heart Them: Barn Owl Primitives

*First let me just say: I have never talked to the head honcho at any Etsy shop. I haven't been asked nor do I get anything out of discussing Etsy shops. I'm just telling you because I love them.


One of my weaknesses is hanging out on Etsy all day and "hearting" items I'd like to own.

Of course, I never purchase. I just swoon. I currently "heart" hundreds of items. No seriously. Its becoming a problem.


A shop I keep coming back to is Barn Owl Primitives. I first heard about them on a blog giveaway. I went to see what this shop had to offer.

If you love subway art - Barn Owl Primitives is the place for you.

The problem for me is that there isn't a phrase that I know I'll like enough to stick with. Its also the reason I'd never get a tattoo. I'm too indecisive and I couldn't decide on a single phrase or picture I'd be happy with for life.

But then I came across this:
I can't begin to tell you how profound this is to me. I realize it's the simplest of sayings, but it speaks volumes. I would love to give this to my Mom. She's the absolute Queen of Survival. After my father suffered a massive brain aneurysm four years ago, she's gone through so much. While he miraculously survived, he doesn't resemble the man he was before in any way. Regardless, my Mom keeps her head up and presses forward.

If ever there was a phrase to fully encompass my Mom, it's this one.
So many different options! I think I found my Mother's Day present. (Above is the one I'd get, below is more my Mom. I "heart" both.)
