Pinterest Party Planning...

For those of you who don't know, my husband is a die-hard Boise State Football Fan.  DIE HARD.  This man is definitely part of "Bronco Nation."  He's traveled to the last two Fiesta Bowls and the Maaco bowl in Las Vegas last year.  We usually travel up to Boise for at least one game at the Smurf Turf.  We're already planning on going to the TCU Boise game at BSU.  If you follow college football, you'll know that should be an awesome game.

Over the last 2 years we've happened to be with Brett's older brother's family on the season opener.  Brett's older brother and sister are BSU alum which is where the love of all things BSU comes from.  In 2009 we watched the game at their house and last year we decided to make a party of it because we knew that family would be in town again.  I made a Boise State party pennant and decorated in orange and blue.  I made my Chili's Queso Copy Cat Dip which is a favorite.  We made orange and blue cupcakes and my sister in law made butterscotch bars which were amazing.

This year their family will be in town again.  So we're definitely planning another party.  I always feel we can do better so I've been scouring Pinterest for our Blue & Orange Season Opener Party.  Which will no doubt become a yearly tradition.

The ideas that really excite me are the Football Whoopie Pies and the Sausage Stars courtesy of Less Cake More Frosting.  The Bite Size Tacos are a must for this party and I think we'll have to make the yummy looking punch too.  Last year it was burgers and hot dogs and this year the guys have made the formal request of steak.  Well, they're the ones that'll be grilling so I'm not complaining.  We'll have hot dogs for the kids too most likely.  And hopefully by the time the Season Opener rolls around we'll be able to find the Boise State tortilla chips in orange and blue like we did last year.  Since we live in Utah all we can find are the U of U chips and BYU chips.  There's one gas station in downtown SLC that carries Boise State chips and I stock up because I have to.  I HAVE TO!  And apparently I was the only one that did so I really hope they stock them again this year.  Even if the blue chips turn your mouth blue.

I have a baby shower that's coming up sooner and I plan on sharing my party planning ideas and invite tutorials on here soon.  Probably this Sunday - but this Blue & Orange Season opener party can not be ignored any longer!
