I think of weeks like this as something straight out of Seinfeld. You know those episodes you watch and think, "Nobody actually does and says stuff like that in real life," and then something happens that directly contradicts that thought. I've dealt with all sorts this week. The immature, the impatient, the rude, the ridiculous, and the straight up crazy.
While other little annoyances have been rampant all week, I'll just focus on the two things that were just over-the-top Seinfeld-ridiculous. If you follow me on Twitter, you may have already read about these stories.
This week began with a random fellow's exotic butt-clench dance at Subway.
Yes, you read that correctly. Strange things have happened at this Subway before, and Monday was no different.
I was minding my own business, reading the menu when I noticed rapid movement out of the corner of my eye. When I looked, what I saw were the man's work slacks...dancing. That's right. Dancing. He was clenching his butt cheeks rapidly, almost to go along with what I assume was the rhythm in his head. It only lasted a few seconds, but I found I couldn't look away. He didn't look back at me, he just moved on, ordered his sandwich and left. Strange habit? Possibly, but I shared my my most recent Subway story with my office anyway. Oddly enough my boss told me he too, had witnessed the butt dancing man before.
But then today...a homeless man spit on my car. I'm not sure of his reasoning but right before he cursed the state of Utah. Now, why my car had to be involved, I'm not sure. Was it my Utah license plates? The fact that my car does, in fact, sit in Utah as we speak? I may never know. I didn't get a chance to ask him why he took out his frustration on my car. It was probably best that I was on the phone and couldn't deal with the offender directly - I may have flown off the handle with a less than mentally stable person.
Odd, and strange, I tell ya. My week in a nutshell.
So on days and weeks like these I like to remind myself that things will even out and sometimes people do weird stuff that doesn't involve you, but somehow you get the brunt of it.
And if that doesn't work, I have this picture on my computer:

In no way am I looking for sympathy. I've already hosed off my car and moved on, I'm simply stating that sometimes people are weird and they do strange and sometimes annoying things that bug you.
And then sometimes they entertain you with their butt dancing habits.
People can be very strange!! Love the picture of the Otter. It made me giggle too!
